The QUESVITA Standard™

Seven standards for clearer, more informed choices.

Our framework is designed to bring greater clarity and accountability to the health information, products and services women encounter.

How the standards work

The QUESVITA Standard™ provides a common framework for assessing relevant health products, services and information. The evidence and checks required will depend on the category; a supplement, digital service, diagnostic product and educational resource do not all require the same review.

Assessment is intended to consider the whole picture, not just a single claim. The standards are Quality, Evidence, Safety, Value, Integrity, Transparency and Accountability.

Important: QUESVITA is developing its assessment methodology. This website does not currently represent that any particular company, product or service has passed a QUESVITA assessment. A company being eligible for consideration does not automatically mean all its products are verified.
Where to find product assessments: This page explains the seven criteria. Individual product profiles and their current assessment statuses belong in the QUESVITA Verified directory. The examples there are currently design mock-ups only, not real assessments.

Our intended assessment process

  1. Eligibility screening: determine whether the company, product or service is suitable for consideration.
  2. Evidence submission: gather relevant claims, documentation and supporting information.
  3. Independent review: assess the information against the criteria relevant to the category.
  4. Third-party testing documentation: where relevant, verify that the company has arranged third-party testing for its product and has supplied documentation demonstrating that testing. QUESVITA does not carry out third-party laboratory testing itself.
  5. Seven-standard assessment: review Quality, Evidence, Safety, Value, Integrity, Transparency and Accountability.
  6. Decision and status: communicate the outcome and relevant limitations.
  7. Disclosure: explain the basis of the assessment and relevant commercial relationships.
  8. Ongoing monitoring: review material changes or concerns and reassess where appropriate.

Independence comes first

Companies will not be able to buy QUESVITA Verified status, favourable assessment outcomes or better rankings. Any affiliate, sponsorship or advertising relationships will be disclosed and kept separate from assessment and editorial decisions. Third-party testing is a verification method within Quality and Safety, not an eighth standard.

NOTE: The framework and process are under development and will be refined before formal verification decisions are issued. QUESVITA Verified™ should only be used for items explicitly identified as verified under the published process.
